I’ve always had a little soft spot for nicely illustrated food. These simple illustrations by Tokyo based Ryo Takemasa really appealed to me. Available for purchase over at his Etsy shop!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. We had beautiful weather in Melbourne, a little chilly but beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine. On Saturday night I went to a restaurant here called Chin Chin. I pretty much loved everything from the food, the interiors to the business cards! So after a little further investigating I found the branding and interiors work was created by Melbourne based design studio Projects of Imagination.

Projects of Imagination did a phenomenal job on the interiors. They describe Chin Chin as “a modern interpretation of the quintessential Asian eating house. The Flinders lane building it inhabits is akin to an industrial downtown loft, with high, pressed tin ceilings, steel columns and large windows looking out to one of Melbourne’s famed lane ways. Chin Chin’s unique combination of bespoke details, quirky wall graphics and industrial objects give the restaurant a grounded but playful feel. Authentic Asian details are subtle yet spirited, such as the vintage delivery cycles and custom ‘basko cart’ joinery units. Hints of pop culture are utilised throughout the space, from the arcade bar facade to the ‘Happy’ mascot neon feature.”

You can find Chin Chin here -

I highly recommend a visit if you’re in Melbourne!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine consisted of baking, running, shopping and brunching. So can’t really complain about any of that! On Saturday I went to a cafe that I often go to called Arcadia. At this cafe you will find suburb coffee, a great selection of food behind the counter and on the menu. I had the ricotta hot cakes with roasted fruit and it was delish! Definitely one to try.

Arcadia is located at 193 Gertrude St, Fitzroy. Enjoy the rest of your Monday lovelies!

Hello! I thought I’d start this week with a fresh new feature that I’ll be posting from week to week. One of my favourite past times in the weekend is going out for brunch. In Melbourne I have to say that I am spoilt for choice with fab cafes and restaurants at every turn. So I thought I’d share a few pics of the awesome cafes that I come across. To kick things off the cafe that I went to in the weekend was…

A little bit about the cafe from their website, “The name Gypsey & Musquito is born of the fight for indigenous rights by two bushrangers in old Van Diemen’s land. It marks the inspiration for our cafe, to use iconic, local and native Australian produce.”

The food was fantastic and the coffee was great. Loads to choose from on the menu, I really wanted to try everything. Will definitely be back here soon. You can find Gypsey & Musquito at 382 Bridge Road, Richmond. And online at gypseyandmusquito.com.au
